Hello, and welcome to my blog! I am Kayleigh Diane and I'm an 19-year-old student from Barnsley. I'm about to start my first year at the University of Huddersfield studying a degree in English Literature and Language.
I have a passion for English, and anything related. I write and I read and I imagine. It's who I am. I have been writing for as long as I remember, even when all I could think to write about was a magical creme egg. Thankfully, my ability to write a good novel has improved quite a bit since then, though I am yet to actually finish a novel. When it comes to my writing, my perfectionist traits bursts free, making me look back over everything I have written, criticizing it and making me start again with a rewrite. Admittedly, it makes for a better read (but I did start my novel when I was 13, and going through an emo stage) but I hope to one day soon finish the novel that has taken so much of my precious time. And maybe, just maybe, get it published.
Aside from the creative writing, I also wrote articles for the college newspaper when I was still at college as well writing a few articles for a local newsletter that is distributed to homes in the area. I also read quite a bit, especially since I've had free time over the summer. I enjoy art, but that has taken a little bit of a back seat lately because I'm so busy with everything else (I'm also a very messy artist and I don't want to ruin anything) but hopefully I can get back into that too.
As a person, I could be described as "complex". I'm not a very popular person, on a whole. I think that's down to me being such an unpredictable person, but when people learn to accept me for who I am, I'm tolerated. I'm very happy to spend time alone, actually preferring it to spending time with people a lot of the time. It takes a lot for me to get close to people and I find it difficult to trust people.
So for now, I think that's it about me. Unless you want to have a look through my favourite things, which are a bit random but you can find them here.
